If you really want to take advantage of ALL the options and functionality of the Nikon D5200, David Busch's superb "Compact Field Guide For The Nikon D5200" is a Must Have Guide!It is most comprehensive, and goes way beyond the basic information contained in the Nikon manual that accompanies the camera. For example, the Nikon User's manual contains 3 pages on using the Built-in Flash, whereas Mr. Busch's Guide contains an entire CHAPTER (10 pages!) on using the Flash. He covers important information left out of the manual, such as "Working with Nikon Flash Units" for example. The Guide is also nicely illustrated with screenshots of various menu items, displays, settings, etc., as well as with the author's fine photography. In addition, Chapter 7 offers many useful "Shooting Tips" to allow one to get the most from this camera, including Menu recommendations and Custom Setting recommendations. Plus, the Guide has a user-friendly spiral binding that allows it to be open flat to any page.Bottom Line: If you want to take your photography to the next level, using the Nikon D5200 WITH Mr. Busch's excellent "Compact Field Guide For The Nikon D5200" will get you there in style!
