Alfred's Basic Piano Chord Approach Lesson Book, Bk 1: A Piano Method for the Later Beginner (Alfred's Basic Piano Library) Details

This series introduces chords more quickly than in the regular Alfred's Basic Piano Library. It is perfect for students age 10 and up whose hands are strong enough to play 3-note chords. By combining intervallic reading with chord playing, students are able to enjoy playing fuller and more interesting songs and melodies. This course is most effective when used under the direction of a piano teacher or experienced musician.

Reviews

I bought this to use with one of my piano students that came in with chord playing ability, but not the knowledge, so I wanted to utilize what she could do and teach her the function, use, and voicing of chords. I was SUPREMELY dissapointed. This is nearly identical to Alfred's Basic Piano Adult All-in-One-Course. Note to teachers, this book does NOT approach the piano from a chord aspect. It does the same songs the same way as all of the other Alfred's books (which are fine, but don't have misleading titles.) I do NOT recommend this book for any person for any reason. The songs are the same as all the other Alfred books I teach from, so it's really just a waste of money if you are looking to expand your curriculum.
