Unlike other Alfred books that skip straight to literature on the staff, this book takes more time for the student to develop greater rhythmic accuracy and greater break down of various components of playing piano. The literature is usually accompanied with exercises that will ensure the success of students learning piano. There are also a greater number of sight reading passages. There is a greater explanation of theory. The biggest downside is that there are not as many actual pieces to play compared to others.
